About the event
GENERAL INFORMATION
· The show begins at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14th.
· Exhibitors may begin arriving at 7 a.m.
· All exhibitors who are trailering in for the day must use the Route 7 entrance to the fairgrounds and park by the VSF Horse Arena.
· Pre-entries are strongly encouraged, we don’t need the payment, just your entries and forms! All pre-entries must be postmarked by: Monday, August 5th.
· Premium will be paid to enrolled 4-H youth with Equine Approval Forms for participation in the horse show. You must compete in these classes to earn the premium:
o Fitting and Showmanship o Project Up

RULES & REGULATIONS
· All riders, regardless of age, are required to wear ASTM/SEI approved helmets when mounted at events sponsored by 4-H.
· The show will be run in accordance with the 2024 New England 4-H Horse Show Rules and Guidelines.

· Proof of a negative Coggins test and a rabies vaccination is required to exhibit in the show; please include copies of these certificates with your registration form.
· The judge’s decision is final. No exhibitor or spectator may approach the judge without permission and/or accompaniment of show personnel.
· Show management reserves the right to combine and/or cancel any classes for lack of entries.
· Horses must be kept at a walk outside of the VSF Horse Arena and designated schooling area.
· Schooling at more than a walk must be done in the designated area only.
· No refunds will be issued for the show. All proceeds go to the Rutland County 4-H Foundation for the benefit of 4-H programming for local 4-H youth.
· General show information:
o Any patterns will be announced and posted prior to the class. Please check the Announcer’s Booth for this information.
o Riders are expected to provide their own music for the Open English and/or Western Freestyle Patterns. Be creative with costumes!
o The Novice Over Fences class is for riders in their first or second year of showing over fences. Riders may trot or canter the course; riders may not cross enter any Over Fences classes.
